The water fountain lives!

Exciting news this week on the fields as the new water fountain is now operational. It has two parts - one for drinking and one for filling bottles so should be a great help in encouraging healthy living and reducing the use of single use plastics. Two wins in one.

The fountain was delivered under a partnership between the Friends and Glendale/ Lewisham Council with funding from the Mayoral Greening Fund and fundraising by the Friends from the local community. Well done to all involved. The Greening Fund provides grants of up to £40,000 to support volunteers and community groups working to make the borough greener. This will help improve air quality and the local environment. The fund comes from Section 106 money obtained via the planning framework.

Also delivered as part of this funding cycle were the fox proof bins and new benches/ picnics tables.
