THE FRIENDS

Friends of Blythe Hill Fields (FBHF) is a voluntary community group that was established in October 2003. Its mission is to bring the community together and promote the increased use, access to and enjoyment of Blythe Hill Fields for local residents and other users of this essential open space.

The Friends works with London Borough Lewisham, who is the owner with ultimate responsibility for the park, and Glendale Services, Lewisham’s appointed contractor, to serve as the representative of the community in guiding and advocating for park maintenance and improvements.

The Friends meets formally twice a year. Meetings are advertised on our website and open to everyone. Friends' Meetings are an opportunity for everyone in the community to get involved and meet other residents with similar interests. We are always keen for more people to attend on a regular basis and newcomers can expect a warm welcome.

The Friends has a constitution, Chair, Secretary and a committee who are elected annually by the Friends. The Committee has set up several working groups which meet on a regular basis to manage the work of members and deliver improvements and events, including our flagship Festival..

As part of the on-going promotion of the Fields and the Friends, the Committee is keen to develop a range of projects and activities in and around the Fields that are suitable for all ages, see events for more details and to see what activities you could join in!
