Lewisham Council play consultation

Share your views (and put in a word for our older children's play area!)

Lewisham is running a consultation about play in the borough, to help them identify local needs and develop a play strategy moving forwards.

The Blythe Hill Friends group is very keen to improve and develop our park play facilities and we’re particularly focused on creating a new, naturalistic, ‘adventure’ type place space for older children, aged 6-10.

This has been one of our aspirations for several years and is now moving higher up the priority list.

Please help connect the council with local needs by responding to Lewishams’ consultation, details below:

–––––

Lewisham Council knows how important play is for our children’s and young people's development. We want to ensure we make the best use of our play resources to support all children and young people to enjoy play and thrive.

We have appointed the specialist organisation London Play to help us develop a plan for play for the borough, and we would like to capture as many views from children, young people, parents and carers as possible about:

·        Play facilities in the borough

·        The purpose and value of play (what it means to children and adults)

·        Ideas for future play development

This will help London Play produce an audit of play in the borough and begin to develop recommendations.

N.B. Consultation Deadline – 25th March 2022.
